How to apply for a new driving
licence:
To apply for an initial provisional driving licence you must make an application on the Government website.

How to renew a drivers licence:
Both provisional licenses and full driving licences can be renewed through the government website, at a Post Office or via post.

A criminal record should not affect renewing your license. However, if you have been disqualified for a driving offence such as drink driving the process may vary.
